The Santa Monica Vikings lacrosse program is currently a club team playing in the Pacific Lacrosse League. We are working closely with Santa Monica High School in an effort to grow into a CIF team at SAMOHI. We currently have three SAMOHI teams; Varsity & JV boys as well as a girls JV team. Additionally, we are expanding our Middle School boys and girls teams at Lincoln and JAMS.
We are not trying to create professional lacrosse players but rather develop young men and women who will value and reflect things like commitment, discipline and teamwork to help achieve their own goals in life. Our intention is to help our children have a serious reason to go to college, stay in college and graduate from college by staying involved with lacrosse! Play lacrosse!

Jeff Townsend
Founder and Director
A Santa Monica native and parent of two SAMOHI students, Julia and Thomas, who both play lacrosse. Jeff has had a passion for the sport of lacrosse for decades and played at San Diego State University as well as at UCLA. After Jeff's collegiate career he played California club lacrosse with Malibu for ten years.
Jeff has coached middle school and high school lacrosse in San Diego, Malibu, West Los Angeles and Santa Monica. Jeff initiated the birth of lacrosse in Santa Monica and is currently promoting the growth of both boys and girls lacrosse in the elementary through high school levels.
"I believe that lacrosse teaches valuable life skills such as dedication, discipline and teamwork which transcend far beyond the lacrosse field. Santa Monica lacrosse is growing at light speed and I predict that the Santa Monica Vikings will be one of the premier lacrosse programs in Southern California."

As a team member’s parent and youth sports enthusiast who grew up in the North East, Chris was introduced to the great game of lacrosse at an early age. With his background in marketing and operations, Chris will spearhead all community relations, marketing, website development and serve as a lead contact for all team members and their families.
