The sport is suddenly everywhere, with USC adding a women's team, high schools picking up the game and parents lauding the sense of sportsmanship.

Lacrosse's lineage traces to the era of the birch canoe. Passion pockets eventually sprang up in Baltimore and New York, where they have played it for decades. And finally, inexplicably, it has found a following here on the West Coast, enjoying a growth spurt that might be a backlash to the just-win attitudes of other youth sports, might not. We are excited to announce to you all today that we are fortunate enough to have just acquired, All-American and nominated to the California Lacrosse Hall Of Fame, Ryland Huyghue as our new Head Coach. Ryland has come to us with 40+ years experience playing & coaching lacrosse. Recently Ryland served as head coach at Cal State Fullerton and most recently at U.C. Irvine. His full bio is on the Coaches tab on our website for those of you who would like to read his full credentials.

WITH THE ADDITION OF RYLAND, OUR SUMMER PROGRAM IS GOING TO BE UNBELIEVABLE! DO NOT MISS OUT ON GETTING IN AT THE BEGINNING OF THE RYLAND ERA!

Coaches Ryland Huyghue (Coach from U.C. Irvine & Cal State Fullerton), Aaron Myers (Coach from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo) & S.M. Vikings Lacrosse Director Jeff Townsend will coach this program and we will be part of a league of 20 high school teams. We will be practicing at John Adams Middle School Tuesdays & Thursdays from 5PM to 8PM and games will be held at JAMS and other area schools. Palisades High School’s summer team will also be practicing along side of us at JAMS!

The summer league dues will be $250 per player (which will cover the league dues, coaching, ref fees, practice fields & jerseys.) We wanted to make this program affordable as we anticipate that not everyone will be able to make every practice or game.

Summer Lacrosse Camps!!

Summer is rapidly approaching and you all (unless you already know everything) need to get signed up for a summer lacrosse camp!

We would like all of you to have as much information about summer lacrosse camps as possible as we feel that it is very important for you to have the opportunity to attend some of the great camps over the summer months.

These camps are like a college lacrosse experience as they are held at universities and players will be sleeping in the dorms and eating in the school cafeterias, etc. It is a great experience for everyone!

There are a lot of camps to choose from ... but we are highlighting below a few that we highly recommend.

Also, if we get enough of our players going to one or more of the camps, we will get a group discount.

You should all know to get signed up as soon as possible as space is limited in these camps.
